Has anyone figured out a way to boost the gain on the XM radio output, other than the menu setting that allows for turning up the gain? All of our installs end up with the XM being considerably quieter than even the FM radio output. Is this a problem with an unusually low voltage output on the XM? Does reception have anything to do with it, because most of our installs end up with about 2 out of 5 bars of sat reception. Thanks!

Yes,

Would you like to know??????

Use a line driver. There are about a million of them out there. Hee is a link to one I've used. Spend $28 bucks and everything is all better.

Does Radio Shack carry anything like this? I see their video gain amplifiers, but nothing for straight audio. I need to be able to get something for tomorrow afternoon. Any electrical supply houses that may carry this type of amplifier?

Here's an XM tidbit: he Delphi XM SKYFi2 features the first-ever "pause" and "replay" functions for satellite radio. Using leading edge technology, the "Exclusive Pause/Reply" feature continuously and automatically saves the last 30 minutes of programming – including programming from multiple XM channels. In addition, listeners can pause the program they are listening to with the option to playback that programming within 30 minutes.

And I almost bought one of those Russound $700 rackmount XM tuners...think I'll wait for one of those new Delphi's with the tivo features. (if the infrared control is well implemented).

I don't know if radio shack will have it. Just about any car stereo shop will have them though. That is where they are mostly used.

Some of the receivers/preamps out their have analog gain control for their inputs, you may want to check and see if yours does. I know NAD T773,763,753 receivers have analog gain control.

AVXpressions,

Are the inputs/outputs to that device RCA connectors? My cable box has low audio output, and I would like to raise it up to match my CD player and compter so that when I change sources on my Whole House system I don't blow out the speakers changing from TV to one of the others.
