Tomorrow we'll mix some xfinity boxes in the coax line just to test if it will interfere with the X1 network. I will post updates

So, any interference with the X1 boxes assuming the Moca adapters were used?

Comcast actually brought legacy boxes for this job, so I haven't had the chance to test with MoCa. for the regular system, so far so good. Picture quality is great, i cannot precept any losses. unless your splitter / cable system is not optimized, yo get pixelation like a an HD antenna with low signal. took us a while to fine tune the best channel frequencies, best way to use the splitters, what kind, combiners, regular splitters, inverted, etc.

Has anyone used an IR over Coax injector with the M3B system?

We have tested said device with good results (800').
However, it would be a good idea to call me before deciding to implement this.

Anybody using these with Savant? Don't see a profile in their library.

Also can someone confirm these will only pass 2 channel PCM?

Just today we used a small M3B system ( 2tx and 1 Rx ) with sucess:

Picture the scenario:

Only One coax and one telephone cable on a wall. One side of the wall the Family room
tV, the other side, a bedroom TV.

Cannot run any new cables, HDBT baluns would not apply, and customer didnt want to have any equipment below the TVs. The sources needed to be in a remote closet.
So, we used the coax with a splitter, one port ñ feeding the M3B Rx behind the family room TV and the other feeding a super small Xfinity MoCa X1 box recessed behind the Bedroom TV. The Phone cable we used to carry IR from the Crestron processor from the Closet. That IR to control both TVs, the M3B Rx and rhe X1 Box. On the Closet, the Big X1 Master DVR and a Bluray, each one of them hooked up in a M3B Tx.

Worked flawlessly. I though we would have problems on the MoCa, but no...

We recently installed a 6 transmitter - 6 receiver system. Picture quality was ok. Not quite true 1080i but OK.

The main problem we had and are still having is controlling the receivers. The receivers have an IR input but you must use the IR receiver that comes with the receiver and attach an IR emitter to it. On the website Metra has the hex codes for the IR codes. We copied and pasted those codes into the Total Control system that we were using in the house. The problem is it did not work consistently. To change channels, such as 65, you must first enter a 6 then a 5. Wait 5 seconds and the channels change. If either the 6 or the 5 was not accepted it went to either channel 6 or channel 5 and displayed a message of "No Signal". This would happen about 20% of the time.

We then tried to learn the codes from the supplied remote to the Total Control. This seems to work better than using the supplied codes but it is still not rock solid. Right now it is working 90-95% of the time. So I am going back again to relearn a few of the buttons.

It would be great if it was possible to send the ir signal for the Total Control system directly into the receiver instead of using the IR receiver and attaching an ir emitter.

I installed a small system in my house with one transmitter and four receivers. Connected one output out of the HDMI matrix switch to the transmitter and set it for channel 75. This works great because all the receivers are set to one channel (75) and I don't have to change channels. Used existing coax cable in the house and connected basement and BR TVs that were not on the matrix system before.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

Guys.. how is the pic quality ? Besides that is there any fix for this 5 second delay on changing channels? I can see that being a issue for sports bars..

Picture quality is ok. Not 1080i but for a bar it should be fine.

Nothing you can do about the 5 second delay for the receiver to change channels. Problem is if when changing channels and you do not go to the proper channel you have to input the channels again and then there is another 5 second delay.

We have used the Crestron Learner dongle to learn the IR codes and we usually crack open the little round IR receiver shell and stick an IR emmiter in there ( without the shell ) and close the round shell again with the led inside. Works perfectly. About the 5-6 second delay, don't you guys agree that when you change the HDMI input on the TV, or via a HDMI matrix, it takes even more time when the TV goes to a black screen and syncs with the new EDID, resolution, etc ? At least with the M3B you don't have that black screen.

Brett, is there a way to go direct in with IR instead of using the receiver?

Or you could splice a 3.5mm stereo cable to a 3.5mm mono. Either way, verify your pin-out with a meter before connecting, so you don't send 5v into something.

Suppose the delay was down to 3.5 seconds on V.2?
