I was one of the first ones to get these, I saw it in Cedia this year, purchased there and just received the first batch this week. For those who didn't see this yet, it's basically a HDMI balun, Tx and Rx, with 100 modulation channels where you choose a channel for every source on the Tx side and over a single coax system ( not necessarily home runs ) you add a Rx balun on every TV and depending on the channel you choose on the Rx, you get every single source. Basically an expandable hdmi matrix system. According to the specs, you can even "mix" your hdmi broadcast system with the Catv signal. Basically, in one coax outlet in a room, you could have a 3-way splitter for a local CAble box, one RX to receive any hdmi source from the house and even a TX to send that local source to the rest of tve house.

I have not tested all the features, but so far so good. The only down side till now is a 500ms delay between source and monitor, so in my case, where I used it on the output of a receiver, I had to change the lipsync settings on the Avr to -480ms to have a perfect sync.

4k? No? So 2014. :p

Kidding. If it works, it works. It will save some retro projects for sure.

Yeah, price or it didn't happen.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Guys, i don't know exactly yet the retail price, but i can tell you a Tx and Rx kit is about the same dealer cost of a HDBT 50m kit from wyrestorm or Snap... Totally doable on an everyday job

So,

Several TX's can be assigned channels, and all the RX's will receive ALL the channels?

Do they carry IR back to the sources?
Has the sync issue been fixed?

This really does sound like a great option for retrofit jobs.

TS these can be used just like a modulator back in the old day...open network...you can even use the same cable to put a send and receive on it if you want...use decent standard coax splitters ....I see it perfect for homes with coax runs you cannot retrofit or bars/resturants/commercial rip and replace of zvee systems...no hands on on the gear, so can't speak of the latency issues...but I harassed Brent plenty at CEDIA and I thought the Kool-Aid tasted good :)  ....YMMMV

Yes, any number of Tx (up to 100) to any number of Rx.

Do they carry IR back to the sources?

No, while there is interest in IR addressing that will have to wait for a later model.

Has the sync issue been fixed?

Unless you are using a splitter and watching a direct feed and an encoded feed at the same time, you will not not ice the encode/decode delay.

This really does sound like a great option for retrofit jobs.

Yes, yes it is.

Is there any reason you would not use these in a new construction job?
Seems simple enough.
Easy to expand the system.
If a transmitter failed, it is only one box to replace, not a whole Matrix switch.
Easy to add local sources on to the line.
If you were going to use an HDMI Matrix, you obviously have a control system in place or planned.

Only thing I don't know about would be lip sync issues if you were tying in the video devices to a AD system too.

I guess local sound bars for TV audio would over come that. Which is starting to become common with all the extra things our TV's do.

These will be the product of the year.

Hell I am using these at my parents house because it is cost effective and brilliant.

DO ADD THE IR (Bi-directional) PLEASE.

So as many transmitters as you want "channels". Then out to an rx for each tv? And HDMI from the rx to the tv. Tune the rx to whatever channel you want to watch? A zeevee is each "channel" out to the tuner of the tv. No other device at the tv end. Doesn't zeevee (or equivalent modulator) end up much less expensive in a system with many displays? (Not taking in to account the HDMI/component video hdcp issue) or am I thinking about this all wrong?
