I was contacted to go take a look at a house of worship in regards to their audio system. When I arrived all the main components (mixers, controllers, mics) had been removed (from the previous owner) and the new owner would like to take advantage of any existing equipment (there isn't much).

From what I have found online they had an EAW system installed as there is a DX SW4 controller/remote installed on the wall. The new owners would like to use this if possible but this unit seems to be discontinued along with the processor it connected to.

As in my other thread about corporate audio, we don't deal with a lot (if any) commercial work so any help on providing a cost effective solution would be appreciated.

The building has:
3 mic inputs on the stage
1 speaker in the main entry with an AEG 0-10 volume control
1 speaker in the office with an AEG 0-10 volume control
6 speakers in the basement with an AEG 0-10 volume control.
1 EAW DX-SW4 remote/controller in main entry

All wires where equipment was located have been cut except for 1 RG6 that has an F-Type connector on it.
Wires are as follows:
4x 22/2 with drain
4x RG6U Copper/Copper
3x 16/2 (I couldn't tell if there was a drain in these ones)
1x 12/2

Please let me know if you require more information

Run.

Or take it on, but doing this right will be quite massive. The church where I handle PA did the first right thing long ago: they put a rack with amps on the stage and ran a 20-channel snake the 100 feet to the booth, where there's a 24 channel mixer.

This is not a larger church, but on any Sunday we'll have four wireless mics (pastor, ushers for guests, and two in the choir area for soloists), the wired mics in the choir area, vocal mics for piano and Hammond; mic in the speaker room for the Allen organ that is sometimes used.

That rack on stage has four monitor channels; one bridged channel for two main speakers. I got involved with the PA when I realized there were maybe forty speakers over perimeter seating and they weren't playing, so I got those going.

Compare this to what you have and you'll see a LONG way to go! These days you should probably have a digital snake and I'm not sure what else in the stage area. A separate mixer for monitoring would be good, too!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Seems like finding a supplier that has competence might be in order.

Did they tell you that they want it done in time for the Christmas Eve service too?

Attach yourself to Fred like a leach and come back to them with a 60-90 day implementation plan that includes plenty of billable training time

I had been going for a couple of years to the church I'm at now before anything having to do with audio came up. When it became obvious that the church and I were also going to deal with one another, one of the trustees told me, quietly, "Don't let us abuse you." I think some churches have totally earned a reputation as wanting to use the cheapest approach and delaying payment.

Be nice but watch out. They're trying to do good and do well but the relationship between church and money is a strange one.

Yes this is the new owner. It is being converted into a Mosque and all they are looking for is to get what is installed working again.

Based on the amount of churches Ive done and Ive done a lot they are going to need to upgrade. I am not sure what their requirements are but from the sounds of it most of the old system was removed and most of the old wiring sounds unsalvageable.

It also sounds like the members of this church do not want to pay to upgrade. This is where you just need to sit them down and tell them what needs to be done.

But I am not sure how large the place is or what your client requirements are.

If you are unaware of commercial sound systems you should stay very far away from this project because items used in the home are not used in commercial applications.
