Looking for free standing non powered subwoofer recommendations.

Other than Triad (which I already know about).

Snap, TruAudio, MartinLogan, Sonance are all brands I am direct with and none of them offer non powered subs. Getting ready to check out Sunfire.

James and Triad are the only brands I can think of that cater to the resi market and offer passive in-room subs.

Klipsch KW-120-THX is a killer passive sub.

+1 on the Klipsch KW-120-THX. Have two and they rock, but the amp leaves a bit to be desired. No control or 12 volt trigger, only auto on. Also no rack kit.

Snap has multiple passive subs. They have two in-wall models, one in-ground sub and one freestanding outdoor (I guess it could be used indoor just as easily) sub.

Yeah, I want to get a pair for my system, but I would probably use a Crown or iNuke with DSP instead. They do rock.

JL has them, too. Why not build your own? Any size limitations (not trying to
recommend anything huge) or are you trying to go with in-wall?

You better go ask around in the DIY Subwoofer section at the AVS forums. :P

The new giant bridgeable Sonance DSP amp with the digital parametric EQ and limiters has me thinking I should think about building something to put behind it for a sub.

2kw at 8 ohms would be fun to play with.
