Is anyone using Voom? Any comments with regard to integration into a Crestron type system? Is the UI =, worse or better than DirecTV?

We use Voom, but I cannot say as to how it will integrate with Crestron gear. I can tell you the box is made by Motorla, and if you need specifics like model # or anything else, let me know, we have one in our showroom.

Thanks.

Basically what I'm asking is if there are any weird quirks that prevent it from being seemlessly integrated into a Crestron system or any other remote control system. For instance, are their any important functions that can only be accessed through toggle commands as opposed to direct commands etc. I'd ask if there were discrete commands but that would probably be too much to hope for.

I do have one big question. Do they REALLY require a constant phone line or is it like DirecTV and Dish in that regard.

Hey QQQ,

You are SOL on discrete commands (lack of discrete power has been a particular pain in the *ss for me anyway, and no you do not REALLY need to keep the PH line plugged in, at least we haven't in our showroom, and so far no issues.

FYI: the box build quality is pretty poor, and it does get rather warm, even more so that most Directv receivers.

One nice thing is it does output composite ntsc (letterboxed) and component HDTV at the same time, but I think there is "video black" present when it is shut off so you can't use it for status sense.
