To whom it may concern:

I know you have to make a living, as we all do. And I can respect your willingness to look into different avenues to sell your products.

But, this is not the place to do it. (on the forums that is) If you would like to advertise I'm sure that there is somebody eager to take your money. But, you would have to contact him (Daniel).

You see, this forum is like the neighborhood bar that is filled with A/V installers. We answer each others questions, alot of us might very well be the decision makers in the companies that we work for, but if you try to hock your wears here you will not be welcomed with open arms.

We know what we like, and we all use what we like. If we wanted to use your equipment or product we would already be using it.

We know about your products and if "I" don't the next guy will tell me the minute I ask
for some advice. You will have to earn our business by word of mouth. So, hopefully you already have an existing member purchasing equipment/product from you. If so when the time comes we (some or all) of us might buy it.

Until then please go somewhere else.

Thank you.

What prompted this??? I'll admit that I'm one of the first people to jump on someone who blatantly comes into this forum to hock a product, but I have not seen a rash lately and since ther are no stickies here on RC this will be buried in a day or 2....

That being said, I have no problem with someone simply announcing a new or innovative product here..... Just when they go overboard and crosspost 5-6 threads and forums....

Yeah, your right. I feel like I have seen a rash latley though. And if it was an innovative product I would probably go about my business. I read one today hocking 20 different types of coax cable and lost it.

Mainly because I get those calls all day long at the office. I get at least 4 calls a day from the same people day after day trying to sell me cable.

I even went as far as to have my home, office, and fax number put on that "government sponsored DO NOT CALL LIST"

I think that the phone calls actually increased!!

I'm just pissy today.

I don't think that business numbers qualify for the "DNC".
