As many of you know, I have been doing Aruba Instant networks since they came out 4 years ago. With the new models that were introduced a year ago, we experienced all kinds of issues with our control systems, Upnp, Multicasting, Airplay, Sonos, iphone 6's, etc. Every support call into Aruba involved them pointing their fingers at the ISP. Client switched ISP, and still had issues. Again their tech support was completely useless.
We have now moved to Pakedge, and have been completely impressed. Yesterday we put in a pretty big system involving the RE2, C36, NP36, SX24, WK1's, and P2. The system destroyed the performance of the Aruba System we replaced. We never were able to get Airplay to works, Sonos was slow, and any 5ghz devices caused all kinds of problems. Plus Total Control product would drop off the network after 5-10 minutes. I was there for 6 hours, and not a single TC product dropped off. BakPak is the best tool in the industry. Their tech support is amazing, probably better than Sonos.
If you guys haven't checked out their product, I highly recommend. It's easy to use, it is designed to be setup by AV guys, not IT guys. It is unusual to find a company that actually cares about their dealers, and believe me, Pakedge does.

Good info. How are the Wk1's deployed? Do they need to be "discovered" by software, or is it something different?

I sure hate to say this but it's true. All the experiences you have had with Aruba, we have had with pakedge. Also, failure after failure with routers. Savant and pakedge had some sort of known issues with each other. If it were possible for 2 companies to commit murder-suiside, I'd gladly watch.

IR Killer you are silly. I like Pakedge a lot. No one is perfect in the networking world. I will say we have been looking into Meraki because of the security and remote access. I will chime in when we have actually used them.

Sadly Aruba was rock solid for 4 years, then changed their design, came in at a lower price point, and the performance suffered.
The WK1's were used with the C36 wireless controller. The controller sets up the access points for the proper overlap, and handoff.

I got upnp and AirPlay working. You just have to wade through aruba's 7 million options.
No complaints from the 2 or 3 I've done.

No complaints from the 2 or 3 I've done. I was more or less amazed that Aruba couldn't tell me how to fix the problem. I don't have time to go through 7 million settings. If Aruba is smart they would publish a white paper on Airplay, Band steering, Multi-casting and Vlan Tagging. I love the IAP105 and 135's. Sold probably 100 each in 4 years. Only one went bad. Never had any complaints, and could have a system up and running in minutes.
