Someone once posted an article about how some theaters have bought the IMAX license, but dont have true IMAX screens. Does anyone still have a link to this article or have info on this? My son is a big Star Wars fan and I'd like to take him to see it in the best version available.

You know one thing annoying about Google? Location and search history affect search results. It looks like LMGTFY gets around that

Got one here in Houston. It locates in our famous Museum District. Oh, close to 40 different museums in about 4 miles radius.

Are they showing Star Wars? It looks like all of the real ones in driving distance of us are museums.

Yes the Palms is an actual movie theater, not a museum-like attraction. Pre-sale is Dec 17.

I would have liked to, even though what I saw was mostly disappointing. But unfortunately, the in laws moved back to within an hour drive.

Of course, you'll have to figure out how the hell to talk to someone, and not just get a recording, at any of these theaters that you choose to call... because the list doesn't state for sure whether these are REAL iMax theaters.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Meh. No surprise the brand new Imax within walking distance of my house is digital. Looks like the other one I used to go to is 70mm, though (but also digital - kind of makes it hard to know what you'll get).
