i am wiring a retail store. with the appropriate amp and speakers.
there is a total of 6 speakers. i have home run all speakers with the idea of using an 8 position terminal block. 6 of used for speakers and 1 used to come from amp.
will this work or should i daisy chain and come from amp to speaker to speaker and so on.
i home ran because i thought it would be easier to trouble shoot.
is there a correct way
Thank you

Home runs are easier to troubleshoot but with only 6 speakers and a 70 volt system, not necessary. It's done, terminal block will work just fine.

So for the future and with much larger systems. Would you do home runs or daisy chain them.
What i am asking is am i losing anything with the home run method?
And thanks for the fast reply

Daisy Chain. Just be sure to use good wire connectors, good wire, and sufficient service loops. It will be fine.

And please use plenum rated parts

You aren't losing anything by doing homeruns except time and money.

Go to Rane.com and look up their essay on 70 volt systems.* It will answer questions you don't even know you have about both 8 ohm (a bit) and 70 volt (a lot more).

There are two genius solutions when using 70 volt systems:
*the wire does not need to be heavy duty as with an 8 ohm speaker (or, to see it another way, the same wire can be used for a much longer run than with an 8 ohm speaker);
and
*there is very little difference between a 70 volt design with 4, 5, 7, 11, 22, or 50 speakers, while several of those are impossible to do with an 8 ohm design. And you can almost always add one more speaker to a 70 volt design. That's simply not possible with an 8 ohm design.

*I read it today on a break, and while I would have written it slightly differently, it covers the information well.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I've heard that expressed also as "it don't take much, do it?" And yet I don't need to resort to drink in an effort to feel okay or be happy.

Don't feel bad Ernie.
I sometimes buy groceries based on the packaging and weather or not I have read it yet.
When I spent all that time in the hospital I would gather every pamphlet I could find regardless of its content and spend hours reading them.
Its a sickness but there is joy in it.

Maybe you really should try a drink. Maybe you'd relax enough so that stick could finally be removed from your ass

You made me laugh by reminding me of the saying "Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig. After I while you realize that they enjoy it." How true. I bet the pigs like better wrestlers and engineers enjoy better thinkers.

I was only in the hospital for four or five days, but after that was the months-long slog of chemo, interrupted by days of having no white cells to fight off ANY infection. Entertainment wasn't very difficult back then but it got a bit harder after I had seen all of the Law & Orders.
