I'm trying to work out the URL's for a couple TruVision cameras that we normally don't use. In digging around I got to thinking - these cameras are ONVIF compliant... doesn't that mean there should be a 'universal' set of URL's you can use for any ONVIF camera?

I've been reading the ONVIF documentation and it gets way down in the nitty gritty but I'm not finding anything as basic as a list of URL's, so it's very possible I'm going the wrong direction with this.

I've already emailed the manufacturer, just looking to get a jump on this.

Pretty sure ONVIF is just a communication standard between the Camera and NVR.

truvision uses a defaul address of 192.168.1.70 usually.

If its not there, truvision device manager is your best friend.

What VMS or system are you trying to integrate the TruVision cameras with?

Sometimes RTSP is the way to go with getting cameras to spit out URL based video.

For example, if you open up VLC, try to open up a network stream, and use the below example (of course fill in your details). I've had success using RTSP with TruVision cameras before.

rtsp://IPADDRESS:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=[CHANNEL]&subtype=00

Yeah I've got all the cameras up and running and recording just fine, it's just the additional streams I can't get right. I get a weird gray screen that is mostly video noise, both in Control4 and when I test in VLC. Video is perfect in the camera's live view and in the NVR.

I'm trying to find the mjpeg stream URL so I can test that.

Well I tried every combination I could find and still not getting what I need. I even figured out the cameras are actually made by HikVision and I tried all their URL combinations and get nowhere.

I'll just wait for tech support to respond.

Found these on the ispyconnect website, I can usually find good urls there...

JPEGhttp://IPADDRESS/snapshot.jpg?user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD]

VLCrtsp://IPADDRESS:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=[CHANNEL]&subtype=00

FFMPEGrtsp://IPADDRESS:554//Streaming/Channels/1

Got this from tech support:

rtsp://{user}:{password}@{ipaddress}:{port#}/{videotype}/ch{number}/{streamtype}/av_stream
Where:

{user}:{password} is the user credentials to authenticate to the unit This is optional. If not included in the URL the player will prompt for credentials.

• {ipaddress}, if RTSP port is other than 554, add :{port#} to the end of the {ipaddress} For example, 172.20.1.11:1024

• The choices for {videotype} are “h264”, “mpeg4”, or “mjpeg”

• The ch{number} corresponds to the channel of the camera (1)

• The choices for {streamtype} “main” for the mainstream or “sub” for the substream

• “av_stream” is standard
