Yeah I kinda realised that after I posted! Lol. Was just being wishful as I have about 15 of the buggers installed in an office in the city and we won't be allowed to connect them to the clients WiFi.

So you put in a $20 wireless router with a dummy SSID and connect them to that.

One thing that hasn't been tested is temporarily connecting to a network long enough to enable power standby, and then disconnecting. I left all of mine connected as internet is supposed to online this week.

Unfortunately given the size of the office, I would need about 15 of them. Plus adittiknal power behind the screens to power the routers. Lol. Will just have to wait for a fix from Sony.

....I'd try a loopback in the wired network jack and set a static IP address.

Have just beeen on the phone with the Sony rep. He tells me there is a feature in the network settings called "Simple IP Control" that must be enabled to stop the screen entering deep sleep.

Can anyone confirm this setting as I don't have access to the panels at the moment.
