Now that they have had some time to get out there - who uses them and what are your impressions? They had a crazy busy booth at CEDIA but I didn't get to hear the demo.

We have been using them for over a year now. I think they sound great at each price point, love the way they install and even like the "whiter grills" they have. It has been a nice line for us and so far I have no complaints.
Disclaimer - we still do mostly Sonance as they offer a fuller line, but Origin is eating into more and more sales lately for us.

We have been using them since the beginning:
Easiest speaker on the market to install, not needing a drill on top of a ladder is awesome. Great margins. No web presence. Incredible sounding. Wonderful to do business with. Nice VIR program.
Only negative is their line is not as wide as others but that is changing quickly, they are growing right before our eyes.

Building our display wall for them now. Looking forward to doing business with them!

Seems interesting that no one listed sound as their first point. Either it's not as impressive as some tried to imply, or it's not that different from everything else on the market.

We've begun doing their outdoor surface mount speakers (mainly due to promotional pricing). In my opinion they don't sound as good as many comparable products (Sonance, Monitor Audio, Kef, Polk)...but sound is objective. The issue I find with them is that they sound very tinny...but that is their choice in tweeter material/design; bass response is fine.
We still stick primarily to Sonance for sound and build quality...but the Origin Acoustic products are not a bad second/third choice...and based on those in the company it is a relationship I think many of us would benefit from longer term.

The last I looked they were more expensive than comparable competitors, so are they worth it?

Another "hype" line from another "marketing company"
Stick With what has worked for you and will continue to work.
Jumping to EVERY "new over-hyped" line will Put you right out of business!
They NEVER have the STAYING power, they start off like a rocket then ALWAYS fall apart down the road with YOU having to deal with YOUR client. I NEVER am explaining to my client why we are "changing" what we originally quoted...

The issue I find with them is that they sound very tinny...but that is their choice in tweeter material/design; bass response is fine. So, you are basing your opinion on one model (the outdoor speakers) you have installed?

They have a unique installation capability. You wont have to be on top of a ladder, balancing the speaker in one hand, and your cordless in the other... One poster, (so far) said they sound incredible, another "great price & sound"... Good margins, and nice build quality. I imagine they sound as good or better than SCraft.

do you have to get into the higher-end models for the better sound? how do the lower tier products compare to others in those price ranges?

I have actually found them to sound very good as compared to Sonance. The higher priced Director stuff sounds great and the bass response is impressive in the larger woofer designs.
I also like their "entry level" product and have started using it as my go to on production houses or if the customer scales back the speaker budget. The p60 and -61 are nice options IMO and offer good sound, and great looks for budget customers.
I don't think they are going to be a flash in the pan - but you never know. I will say this - I think it is more than "marketing". They are trying to innovate the in-ceiling speaker category instead of just being another "me too" product.
