I like the Sony 850C as our entry level TV, but it has bugs. I have had a client complain that the Crackle app "ad" would pop up randomly and no button press could get it to go away (researching that is what learned me that Sony owns Crackle...go figure). He had to power cycle the TV. Disconnecting the network fixed that.

I have seen several of them automatically switch to HDMI4 all on their own randomly. There is an issue with Yamaha RXA750/RXV679 AVR and certain sources....intermittent or no video and/or audio. Yamaha and Sony engineers are both aware of the issue and are working on a solution. The latest updates did not include a fix according to Sony CIS techs. And 45 minutes for an update is awesome.

What then is your non entry level TV?

As far as the Sony, I was very impressed with the 850B, especially compared to Samsung. Haven't done a C yet but I have heard others complain that the pic quality is not as great as the B series. Agree? Would you still recommend the 850C for the smaller pic sizes of 55-65?

Problem with pic quality in C series is just related to some default settings and possibly older firmware. There is another post on this forum with detailed setting/steps that has to be taken in order to fix those "issues "
Overall current Sony XBR line is definitely the best choice for CI's

the C series picked up right where the B's left off.

Sony had been mid level for about 6 or 7 years before last years sets. they really got back on track and have shown they are a real player in the high end TV market again.

+1 Sony is finally the leader again in the 'after plasma,' LED TV market. It has been an interesting race to the bottom. IMO, Sony sucks less than Samsung and light years less than Sharp.
