AV Company out of the area did a office here and the RA2 is acting up.

They want us to check it out.

Don't do RA2 too often.

Is the programming stored on the Main repeater?

Or do they have to send me a copy of the program.

Thanks.

File will be on Main repeater.
Need to be using "inclusive" version of software to be able to extract the file and work on it.

also, the Processor/file needs to already be in V5.0 or higher

Honestly, taking over a system, I would factory reset everything and start fresh. Even if it had a ton of loads and devices.

Did the system EVER work reliably? If so, it's likely not a programming problem...It's more likely a physical hardware issue. This could be as simple as an AUX Repeater that's gotten unplugged or dropped a PSU, a network conflict disrupting communications between two Main Repeaters on the LAN [if this is the topology] or a failed dimmer.

Regardless I'd certainly want a copy of the programming as a reference, even if you plan to start over...

When you download RA2 software you get a version called "Essentials"
If you are an L2 dealer you can update Essentials to Inclusive which adds a few more features such as being able to extract a file from the processor.

I agree with Mogul, I would want to extract what is there, even if I was going to redo everything. There might be some things hidden around the house you haven't seen, but they will be in the program for you to find.

FYI, I just bricked my home processor doing an update. According to tech support, they have a problem with a batch of main repeaters (it's roughly 6 months to 1 year old) and decided against a recall but are replacing them as needed. Symptoms are that all 5 repeater status lights are flashing. You cannot do a factory reset either.
