Both are practically the same in price for a package. Never owned either brand. Keep hearing the Infinity you really need a subwoofer in place and with the SVS, you can live without it but not necessary. Ditching broken receiver and maybe opting for speakers. I do like their Ultra line, but cannot afford the extra $2000.

You probably won't find any info here regarding SVS since they are a ID company.

You would, most likely, be better off asking over at AVSForum.

The SVS is going to be a better value.

The Infinity system IMO is not a very good value for the money you pay. They are built cheap with cheap components and they sound like it. But Harman charges you for premium build with premium components (even thou it's not). For $500 per speaker, there are many other speakers that are a better value than the Infinity brand by Harman International (including other brands Harman makes).

SVS is a GOOD subwoofer, especially for the money

SVS told me that their Prime speakers are %80 of what their Ultra's are but for %50 of the price. With a 45 day guarantee which shipping is paid for both ways I don't think I can lose. Now to first find a Pioneer Elite SC-97 in stock somewhere. Man, they are hard to find.

I'd be looking for a Marantz SR7010.

I'm still on my AV search. Hunting down some speakers and a receiver. Although, my PSB speakers might just be fine so I may boil it down to just a new SVS sub and a receiver. Really too bad my Denon X4000 sub output died on me. Was a nice unit for its very short 1.2 year life.

Get it fixed under warranty.

But it won't do Atmos or DTS:X.

I have an SC81 I may be looking to get rid of shortly as well as a Marantz SR7009. Quite possibly getting rid of my SVS SB13 Ultra also and a Triad set up. I have been building my own equipment and with a little know how time and tools you can outperform anything on the market for a fraction of the price. I have some Canton towers also, ton of Elan stuff - basically a firesale of equipment that I don't need anymore
Motors, music, movies, and muffles box. There are a few of my favorite things.Constant tinkerer. Constant thinkerer and builder of things, tweaker of others, breaker of a lot.
