Sonos tech support didn't quite know, but told me that these providers might possibly help: calmradio, hotelradio.fm, siriusxm, soundmachine.

This was one of our main issue w/Sonos. Sonos tech support didn't quite know a lot of stuff, or they claimed to know and just wasted our time.

Actually had a Sonos tech support rep tell me(on speakerphone and in front of client) that Sonos wasn't really meant to be used in a commercial setting... and it were a simple setup - Connect -> 2ch amp -> 2 pair speakers in a pilates/spin studio.

Now my impression is that Sonos is just another glitchy, overpriced, Chinese streaming device.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

Haha, and it will go away in no time.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

It looks to me like Pandora Commercial is still the same, requiring the stand-alone player. It looks like Mood is licensing the commercial Pandora accounts instead of DMX but it says on the Mood/Pandora site that you have to have the Mood player specifically.

Mood:Mix(which is available via Sonos) seems to be a very different program than the Pandora Commercial licensed by Mood Media.

This is my understanding as far as my reading comprehension allows. If you've got a different experience(not statement from Sonos support), I'd love to hear it.

About 4-5 weeks back, there was a 60 min webinar on the new Mood Media support in Sonos. It's *not* the same as a full fledged DMX installation, but it seemed perfect for the "light" commercial installs a lot of us have been asked to do.

The links in my post above specifically address this.

Does anyone know if Pandora Commercial or XM Comemercial played thru sonos times out or stops after a certain time. We would like to use this solution for a customer with spotty XM coverage but they want it to run 24/7 without having anyone touch it.

Most if not all streaming services will stop at some point, asking if you are still listening.

I know that XM is very sporadic at best when this happens, but they usually last at least 8 hours streaming before any interaction.

Pandora I've seen from anywhere between 5-8 hours.

This is a bit contorted, but you could use Alarms to "refresh" your current history with a service. For example, my Pandora service is fairly consistent at dumping me after eight hours.

Let's say that you have determined that service XYZ dumps at exactly eight hours. Set an alarm to play XYZ forever. Set another alarm to play a silent track after 7:59 and one minute later set an alarm to start XYZ again. With three of these pairs you could cover 24 hours. (or four 6-hour pairs, or whatever)

One down side of this scheme is that the silent alarm after 7:59 will probably stop a track abruptly. And, the restarted stream will fade-in. This will also not be much fun if the service goes down because the alarm "gong" will play for a while if the service is down at alarm time.

I'm using the free Pandora service and after a few hours the play list always starts repeating and gets a little weird. I think that they are testing me to see if I am paying attention. If I thumbs down a few selections, they'll get back on track.

In your example, you would be a lot better off using a skip function. That way the only silence is next song loading -- or about 2-4 sec of silence.

Mario,

But, LiveWire wanted automatic, and alarms don't support the skip function.

---

Yes, I could skip Pandora, rather than thumbs down. The music pause is about the same, but the thumbs down will help to suppress the weird stuff.
