Does anyone here install Sonos in commercial settings?

I have new client that has existing Sonos units that would like to start using them in a hair salon / spa type settings.

In trying to use the existing Sonos units, what services support commercial licensing?

There are several listed, but I don't know if any have an option for paid, commercial account.

Sonos tech support didn't quite know, but told me that these providers might possibly help: calmradio, hotelradio.fm, siriusxm, soundmachine.

If you sign up for a internet commercial Sirius account and then use that log in on your Sonos it will automatically be a commercial account and show the stations that apply to the commercial account. I think it will only play for 10 hours then stop.

Hotel Radio and Mood are available as commercial services through Sonos. I am curious if a bar pays for ASCAP and BMI if they could use Sonos and play anything.

Yes,
I am using two sonos units and two XM satellite radios in a Salon/SPA.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Any preferences in service provider for barber shop, spa type settings?
It's all relaxing, non vocal type of music.

Reading this disclaimer, its not clear to me, but it sounds as though the only plan for which all of the licensing is paid for with hotelradio.fm is the one that's not available in the US.

Important Licensing information. Public performance licenses must be paid for all music programs when used in commercial environments. Generally, local authorities charge those fees in your area and you must deal with them directly.
However, with the “Sounds like…” channel plan, we have all licensing rights, including those for public performance. This plan is currently not available for U.S. residents.

Mood Mix is a commercial service. I was unaware of the Sirius options as mentioned above.

Pandora commercial is licensed only to DMX, and as far as I'm aware(too many hours of round-about with Sonos, and DMX than I'd care to admit) Pandora cannot be licensed for commercial use outside of the DMX players.

FWIW...

I have 2 LARGE gyms in a large market....they are haunted by ASCAP and BMI all the time....

They have Sirius/XM commercial accounts and occasionally play them...but they mostly play Pandora and Rhapsody....

YMMV.

Rick, is this Mood:Mix integrated into Sonos control?
From what I was told, I could use DMX and the likes with line level out into Sonos, but then I would lose all of the music selection/control and it would be like using CD player with Sonos where volume and source selection is available but content display and control are all lost.

In other words Sonos would basically become a dumb DA system.

It looks to me like Pandora Commercial is still the same, requiring the stand-alone player. It looks like Mood is licensing the commercial Pandora accounts instead of DMX but it says on the Mood/Pandora site that you have to have the Mood player specifically.

Mood:Mix(which is available via Sonos) seems to be a very different program than the Pandora Commercial licensed by Mood Media.

This is my understanding as far as my reading comprehension allows. If you've got a different experience(not statement from Sonos support), I'd love to hear it.
