so lutrons caseta stuff comes packing so you can flip open the front flap and view the switch/dimmer inside. Clear plastic window attached to the box. However the switch inside does not come with a thin clear film you can peel off it to protect it. Just ordered a bunch of them and every single one is scratched up on the face and the decora plate too around it. Some actually have some fairly deep gouges. Packages and box were def never opened before. It must seriously get that damaged during shipping. It weird too the dimmers in the center all have a smudge of like greasy residue on them too.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Just did my first system, fine condition. Want to give a shout out to my UPS driver Anthony, he always has my back.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

Got some in August and they looked/worked fine. Appropriate tool for the humble, simple job I had...

Sounds more like product that was repaired or returned. Did you purchase from the back of a white van :)? If not i would ship them back after photographing the issues.

Got them from wave. Bought the package kit with bridge and three dimmers + picos to test out. Bunch of sealed Lutron packages inside a sealed Lutron box inside a shipping box. Gonna swap them and see if next kit is same way. Everything was sealed. Definitely didn't look as if it had even been opened.

Sounds odd, my experience with Lutron (going on 17 years) has never had issues like you describe.

I'd like to see some pics of the damage. I've never noticed an issue or had a client say anything about lutron switches. These are light switches though. they get handled pretty aggressively sometimes so maybe I just dont think this is a big deal?

Is it actual damage, or are you just anal? (Not saying that negatively....)

Also keep in mind, just because everything looked sealed, doesn't mean it has never been opened.
When I was in retail I worked with a guy that was a master at repacking.
He could take floor demo gear and repack it back in their boxes and wrapping and no one would know they just got a floor model.

pm me your email. i'll send you pics. the pico's and wall dimmers have light scratches and there is a fine line in the center of each decora plate. whether a mold issue or a scratch idk. the lamp dimmer has some deeper scratches.

its good to here this isn't a common issue.

I see similar marks on new RadioRa 2 and HomeWorks switches & dimmers too.  The devices are just places in the little cardboard boxes without any protection.

Would be nice if they'd package them in a small bag or placed some protective film on the front.
