On site. Sony xbr55x850c. URC mx900. Complete control. HDMI 1 is MIA?
Code set 621. Hdmi codes are off by one???? Meaning hdmi 2 takes you to hdmi 3, 3 to 4, hdmi 4 goes to video 1. Hdmi 1 goes no where?
I've tried multiple hex codes and they do the same thing
Any help?
Argh!

I have seen that, think an update fixed it. Of course that was after the remote was finished so I just moved all the cables.

Lowhz - thanks - but none of those worked?
Joe - I forbid myself from firmware updates at 7pm - maybe I'll try that next time
Luckily - it is on a tilt mount and I was able to get HDMI 1 swapped to HDMI 4

I thought I found a codeset in there that was correct. Maybe I did the update first, and they worked. I do not remember. I DO know that there are issues with the X850C TVs and Yamaha RX-Ax50 and RX-Vx79 AVRs however that they are still sorting out. Grrrr....

Luckily - it is on a tilt mount and I was able to get HDMI 1 swapped to HDMI 4 Firmware update is the first thing to do on those TVs. At the very least it will enable Netflix, the latest one (8-25-15) turns on RS232 and makes significant picture improvements. Download it from the Sony site (1 GB file) and install it from a USB stock.

How much faster is the USB install vs. network?

Update changes the codes. I did not run the update on two sets as we are not using any smart features or rs232. I didn't notice much picture improvement after the update, so we just left them as is so we don't have a tv lock up or worse. The client did an update after the guy at the Sony store told him alllllllll about the amazing smart features (we are using Roku there). Next thing you know, he's calling cause nothing works. Input commands changed and now he was seeing a blank screen or the Yamaha Piano background, depending on which TV he was looking at.

correct. firmware update fixes it. out of the box, hdmi 1 is 2, 2 is 3, 3 is 4, and nothing works for 1. after update everything is mapped properly.

How much faster is the USB install vs. network? Significantly. The download is 1 GB. It takes a while from the Sony site on your laptop so put it on a stick and it's about 25 minutes to install.

The hdmi1 issue was the last thing, all the other commands worked. It's been another long day and I wanted to go home. As far as the TV apps go, that's a whole other topic. We do not support TV or DVD apps at this time. Too many bad, long trouble shooting times, to result in not working app issues. Apple TV and Roku work and can be consistent. TV to TV and between projects. I had another Sony SEN issue fail just recently. Not worth my time.

Thanks Ed and lowhz. Those should have solved my issue.
But like goldenzrule stated, I did not need any of the extra stuff. Just a working TV.
So now my fear, client or kids enable network to TV, update, and my programming no longer works :(

we ran into this several times. It was the URC 900 database. We ended up using a second remote, 880 or 780, then learning the code to the 900. all we ever need is discrete powers and hdmi 1 or 2.
It seems that it is just in the 900 platform.

Heh, yeah, I'll agree with that. The HDMI codes in the MX-900 database *do not work*. I just checked a configuration used on an X850B, and sure enough all 4 HDMI codes were imported from Pronto hex. Video 1, Video 2, Tuner & power seem to work OK (probably because those codes haven't changed 30 years).

It's a monitor where every single function exists as an Android service at the OS level, not just the streaming features. That's the CI world you live in now.
