at this point, doesnt matter what kind of projector... An architect asked me to find a projector and lift that would recess into a 3in deep dropped ceiling. At first, I laughed, but then i realized he was serious... So I kept to myself and said that i would research the lowest depth lift out there to come " as close as possible " to the proposed dropped ceiling depth.
I could do a small Casio laser projector, the slim epson ones, doesnt matter... The lift is the key.
Thanks guys

3 inches? I think you have a typo. [Link: da-lite.com]That's a pivoting lift with a chassis height of 13.6". Lifts work with mechanics, not magic.

Turn the project inside out. Fix mount the projector (pointing away from the screen) and one mirror, then drop a second mirror. Precision positioning of the dropped mirror is key. Use front surface mirrors.

Let us know how this works out, could be a good solution for my personal setup (though there's not much for quality projectors that will fit in that setup)

Activated Designs makes a zero height projector lift so if you can find a projector that's 3" tall it might work: [Link: activateddesigns.com]I'd planned to use one for a recent job, but ended up moving the projector back to a soffit.
