Guys,
I'm getting ready to go in and finish a job I pre-wired about 7 months ago. My customer took a 1800 sq. ft. ranch and added 2, 2 story additions on each side of the ranch for a total sq. Ft. of approx. 6800 ft. This customer works a lot from home and needs a good wireless system that allows seamless hand offs between AP's. I was looking at the Luxul XWC-1000 with 3 XAP-1500 access points. What do you guys think of this system? Any better options?
Thanks

I've heard good things about new Luxul WAP generation, but have not got my hand on it.

Did quite a few Ubiquiti AP-Pro. They are great, but Zero hand-off does not delegate itself quite well.

My customers generally have very positive responses to the wireless controllers. Easy to configure, do a nice job in larger facilities.

I've been using ruckus, and have been very happy. Put 14 of the r500 and a zone director in an office buildig and walking through was pretty seemless.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

You may need more then 3 WAPs, but otherwise I have nothing but good things to say about the Luxul WAP/controller combo.

Have several out in the field and put one in at the in law's house. Believe me, if it wasn't working, I would have heard about it by now.

I just installed a XWC-1000 and 2 XAP-1500. Here are a couple of things I learned: once you install the XWC-1000, it is in control of the settings on the WAPs. Settings like transmit power are automatically set by the controller.

Second, make sure the firmware is up to date. I initially had problems with iOS devices disconnecting from the wifi after 60 seconds. I quick call to Luxul revealed I had oldish firmware in the controller. They also recommended a change in the encryption setting.

The system is working perfect for my customer who runs a software company from his home.

The XWS-2500 has been an increasingly popular seller for us.

I am using the kit at my house and office and its working very well.

If any of you are interested in buying from us we stock them and you get free shipping as well as we will do design services. So send us the floor plans and where wires are and we can let you know which products will work best. No point in going to a job site only to have to go back! All of our products also ship on the latest firmware. We update them to the latest before they ship. This saves a good chunk of time for everyone.

Luxul offers awesome products, I use everything from their routers switches and access points. My go to WiFI pack is the XWC1000 with two APs it works like a charm, setup is a breeze. The hardest part is to make sure your router IP is 192.168.0.x form that's it and everything else is follow the prompts. I love Ubiquiti but Luxul is my favorite if the client has the budget. This is a true handoff roaming wireless network, the roaming feature works better than your famous wireless network. 😀😀😀

I just put the XWC1000/XAP1510 kit in....it was pretty amazing. We sued Total Contro, Sonos, JAP, and GenIV cams. Roaming between waps was flawless, handoff was instant, setup was breeze. For us, it is nice to have a middle of the road system like Luxul between UniFi and Pakedge. The TC remotes roamed very nicely :)

are you guys using dual band access points? if so can that be combined with single band models such as the outdoor model? I would like to be able to use 5ghz but wondered if all other devices have to be dual band.

Good luck, I hear they have pretty good attorneys.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
