System has a Yamaha RX-A850, Directv genie HR34, Samsung BDP (don't remember the model), Optoma HD50 projector, and an ethereal CS-HDC5EXTSR HDMI extender across cat5 (I have two cat5 and a coax available. No cat6). I can't get 1080p from directv, and I can't get 3D from the bluray. (To be honest, I don't know if anyone specifically tried resolution options on the BDP to see if it will work 1080p, but I doubt it will). Also, this has been in for about a week and the client says when he has watched tv, the picture sometimes blanks out. I assume it's Resynching.
Any suggestions? Brent?

Well that is not an HDBaseT extender. That is a very cheap extender (didn't know Ethereal still made those), that doesn't even specify that it will do 3D. [bandwidth is only 4.95Gbps]. There are also dip switches for setting range and EDID to play with.
I would say replace that cheap Ethereal extender with an Ethereal HDBaseT extender.

It does have a 3D switch on the transmitter side. Brent called me back and explained the symptoms suggest multiple issues. What you mentioned being one of them
