On a lighter note ;) who's going to see this movie?

Also, for those who may be rap/hip hop fans, whose your tops artists, albums and/or coast (east vs west).

Looking for a nicer debate....

Rock Box
And don't forget Southern HipHop.

Anyone else remember all the rap movies from the 80's?

Im a fan of NWA. I like most of what came out in the mid 90's. Cypress Hill, Biggie, Tupac, MJG, 3-6 Mafia.

These days i like the cheap grimy music like Bobby Shmurda, Chief Keef, Fetty Wap. Anything with a fast energetic/aggressive sound.

I listen to house and techno music 50% of the time. 10% of the time i like 50's and 60's music. Another 10% of the time i listen to 90's alternative/grunge rock and the rest is split between new and old rap music.

I enjoy music of all genres except modern country. I cant freaking stand it. I would rather listen to mariachi bands. I love bluegrass though. Its hard not to love the banjo.

Yup. Boys in the Hood, Menace to Society, Do the Right Thing, (later on) the Friday's, to name a few. Lots o fun ones!

I will go to this movie, probably the second week though. I've been looking for another good Paul Giamatti movie ;) (And the one with he and Tom Cruise was hurrendous!)

Also, I still remember the first time I saw the video for Straight Outta Compton for the first time. It was life-changing and made me dig in and embrace a culture that was not my own...

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

No one likes modern country except Tweens and house wives. It's the same that listen to Disney artists. Funny how the older I get and the more I appreciate music, the more bluegrass stands out to me. There's something about its influence on American music that seems to bring so many back to it. You ever check out any Doc Watson? It's amazing how many pop stars list him as an influence

Doc & Merle were great- I don't know if you're familiar with Al DiMeola, but in a Guitar Player Magazine interview in the late-'70s, he said Doc was a big influence and that he used to learn to play all of those guitar parts. Then, he found out that Doc was finger picking a lot of it and Al was flat-picking all of it. Nothing about DiMeola's style sounds anything like Bluegrass, but he learned it.

I HATE most modern country.

its a shame about Merle. His son Richard played with a Doc some, but only because he was family. He didn't have the same talent as Doc and Merle. He recently passed away too, I think it was something that was likely caused by drug use.

"Now here's a little story I've got to tell
About three bad brothers you know so well
It started way back in history
With Adrock, M.C.A., and me - Mike D."

If you grew up in the 80's you'll know that group. My first album that I bought with my own money was that very one. They've brought rap/hip hop and rock all into one album. 30 years later you can still hear them songs.

Little known fact... Fight For Hour Right to Party, first and probably only video on MTV to show a blonde toppless. Apparently the black bar didn't make it in the final cut. I saw it on YT some where.

Was that the Fat Boys?

They didn't get their due respect.

Mac Burks is correct. Though I was wrong about the video. I thought it was Fight for your right. Or maybe a different version. All I know it was a video that the shot during a live performance, and just tape the studio song over it.

Fat Boys, haven't heard that name in a long time... Time to go on YT again. Ha
