Trying to use the direct-inject IR jack on SONY 4K panel...Codes are known good, cannot get to work. Anyone know how to get this working? REALLY don't want to stick an emitter on...

TIA

Figured it out...Must use a cable with a stereo plug. Works like a charm!

Thanks for posting what the fix was. I have the same issue and ended up putting an emitter on the bottom ir sensor. Luckily its covered by a frame.

I have another issue with the 60" 4k set... It powers up and defaults to the apps page. Anyone figure a way to (without adding an input code) to turn this default page off?

What's the wiring on the stereo cable?

Post #4:
"The catch with Sony is that they use a 3 conductor jack on the TV IR input. If you use a 2 conductor, "mono" cable, the sleeve will short the sleeve and ring together and the IR input will not work. Switch to a "stereo", 3-conductor cable and it should work. You want sleeve to be ground, tip to be signal and no connection on the ring."

Another possible issue (at least on the X850B) is that the IR input jack can allow the cable to go in a little too deep on some units. Such that when firmly pushed in, no commands will work. But, if you stop the cable from going in all the way (like pad the connector with a thin plastic washer), the cable still holds firm in the jack, but IR actually works.

Took me a while to figure this one out! Wasn't a cable issue either, and I did locate other reports of the same issue.

Can't get this to work on an XBR65X900C. I have several int eh field working on the X850C and D. I know on the 850c, you had to turn on the IR port....can't seem to find it on this one....frustrated.
