Situation:
Client got kid a PS4 and there is no HDMI from the TV to the Yamaha Receiver (Receiver does not have HDMI), all component wiring and only the video portion goes to the TV(RGB).
All A/V switching is being done at the receiver.

Client does not like the HDMI cable from the PS4 to the TV running across the living room floor and wants a newer bigger TV.

Client wants to upgrade TV (have not picked that yet, gonna be Costco), I plan on using the Yamaha RX-A750, upgrade the Apple TV to the latest. The only other source will be a DTV box.

The Dilemma:

The wire path from the TV to the equipment cabinet is up the wall and into the ceiling between the first and second floor, across the room and back down to cabinet. 99% sure no conduit.

Client not interested in drywall and painting, custom finishes and all.

My Question:

Is there a device that will utilize the RGB cables to get 4k UHD HDCP 2.2 compliant to the TV (zero luck finding that) or a wireless option, (getting closer but nothing pops out)?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Wireless HDMI?

What kind of Component wiring? If RG-6 or other Coax, there are HDMI over Coax solutions.

I assume the TV is wall mounted? Any chance of him letting you put a shelf below the TV for the PS4 and DirecTV? Genie? Maybe he can move a client to that location and you can stuff it behind the TV? Or maybe utilize RVU? They make wall mounts for PS4. Space the TV out enough to slide it behind the TV? Then you just use one of the coax cables for digital audio back to the receiver? Lots of question marks there, I know.

Or does JAP work over MoCA? ;)

Ahhhhh yeah.....no 4k 2.2 on SDI....but for now your best bet unless JAP has 4k gear....and could be supported on an AP or MOCA

Sorry guys out of the loop yesterday.
The 4K part puts this out of the "current" SDI realm, an SDI 12G white paper has been released but we do not know when we will sell chip-sets to work with.
SDI 1080P is of course out and will work great "assuming" that the coax is/can be terminated with a 75 ohm BNC terminal (not an adapter).

Why do you need a 4K HDMI extender? None of the sources you've listed are 4K.

Planning for the inevitable. I would not want to be "that guy" who sold an expensive HDMI solution using the limited wiring available, to help the guy not have to tear his room apart to fish new wiring. A savior, so to speak. Only for the customer get excited about UHD Bluray, buy a player a few movies for Christmas, only to find out, he is hosed and needs an even more expensive solution. :)

Now if you explain to him all of this up front, and he understands that he may get hosed, and he signs off on it, releasing himself from becoming a total douche to you when the time of hosing occurs, then go for it. Sell him something now that will work now, and then when he NEEDS 4K, he can cross that bridge when he gets to it.

Bingo, he is this guy. He likes one and done solutions. If he sees the value it is done. He does not even want to think about it until it is time to use the finished product, my favorite kind.
