Specifically the RGBW strips that come with the 40 button remote. I have files for the 24 and 44 which have given me control of everything.... EXCEPT turning off (dagger).

Any chance someone has some info on their IR protocol or the hex code for their off command? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The forty button remote that shows in your link has OFF.

What you're asking translates to "how do I learn an IR code?" You have the remote, so you have the code in its most physical form.

So: what remote control system are you trying to use to control these little buggers? What other remote control systems do you have the software for?

My solution to this question for about the last ten years has been to carry a Pronto TS1000 from, what, the 1980s? I use it to learn new codes. I use its software, available for free on this site, to open an edit screen from which the hex code can be copied, copy as in "copy and paste."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie, you're assuming he has the remote in his possession. Even if he does, he's still asking for help with a code. Here it is:

With that said, what else is out there that has 2way feedback API for something like this ?

Usually, its these little kits that the OP linked to or you go the more robust route of installing a DMX system.

DMX, imho, is the way to go.

I agree with you about DMX from what I've seen.

But I haven't priced it. What's the difference in price of entry between DMX and "these little kits"?

So, I've used the cheaper kits referenced above (which have many different names) but have never worked with the DMX lights.

What/who is a good supplier or brand to start with for the DMX RGB(W) strip lights? I wouldn't mind paying a little more for better quality and control.

Really depends on the control system involved when using DMX.

For control4, I use this guy, which is a rs232 to DmX control box. The control system fires off the light scenes (rs232), then the box does all the heavy lifting of commanding the light loads.

You can use any light strips, pro lights, etc. that are dmx capable.

Then you need dmx controlled light drivers like these.

Or these (I used these for all my tape lights and bought a separate power supply)

Having trouble with converting RGB to Hex for control4. Does anyone have a hex code list for RGB strip lighting? I have Screen Innovations 44 button remote for the screen lighting and Calrad 24 button remote for the Ceiling accent lighting on a project. the problem has been learning the codes via control4 is not working.

Thanks in advance!
