Anyone know of a large LCD, 30 inches and up, that do not require a media control box. I need a large panel but I want a monitor without any propritary cabling. I believe the Sharp and Sony require media control boxes.

Thaks for the info.
Anyone installed a SONY KLV-M1? It looks as though it does not require a media control box. How about the Mitsubishi LT-3040? This one I cannot determine if there is a media control box or not.

Yes the LT-3040 has a built in processor as does the Sharp 32" and I believe the 37" Sharp can be had with an onboard processor.

give me until tomorrow am and i can let you know about that sony, we have a couple in stock. if it does i know for a fact the SVA VR-30 30" panel has no external box, and looks okay with hi-def and dvd, the only problem i have with it is, not vesa compatible. makes it fun to wall mount with any kind of articulation.

Thanks for the tip on the Sharps. Every third model does not require the media control box and I seem to have previously found only those that did.

I believe the G series models don't use the media box on the Sharps, but the H series do. Mitsubishis don't use them last i checked - but they only make 2 sizes and Zenith models don't use boxes either.

I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

Try the Toshiba 32HL84 . Great picture. The Sharp G series specically the LC32GD4U does use a "meia box".FYI

If 30" is large enough I would try the Mitsu. No box and great picture!
