client is just watching their cable box, when I message pops up saying "there is a new external device connected, do you want to enjoy it?"

Since they are using a URC remote, they don't have access to TV commands. Is there anyway to get rid of that message once for all?

Any device that is smart, be it car or TV, is only as smart as the people who designed it to do only certain things, and force you to do ALL of those things. Nobody knows what "smart" really is to someone else.

Is it possible that there's some one or two buttons on the LG remote that will allow them to respond "no"? I know this is less than satisfactory, but it could handle the problem.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I was hoping for someone who installs a good number of LG televisions to hop in with something concise.

A work around would be to pop a TV macro command in the device menus they are using. or a jump to the TV menu with a return command back to what was playing (in total control that would be a NOW PLAYING command).

Are you intentionally using multiple inputs on the TV? What input is triggering and whats plugged into it?

Make sure SimpLink is OFF.

We see this the first time we plug a new component in, but then it goes away as long as it remains plugged in.

We rarely use multiple inputs on the TV though and havent done a lot of the new LG's lately.

Only one input used.

Client has a VGA cable connected but no device connected to it.

Is SimpleLink what senses cables or devices connected??

Thank you. Although I didn't get the pop-up while I was on site, I turned the SimpleLink off and created a button that will allow them to navigate the TV controls and get rid of the pop-up. Thank you for all your help!

Do they have the OEM remote? They can go into the menu and disable notifications with, or without, the remote.
