I have a customer with an existing Sony receiver from around 2009, I think. It has both of the Sirius and XM antenna ports on the back. Since I don't mess with satellite radio and I know they have merged, which antenna will I need to get her going?

She has the service in her car so I imagine that this receiver has to be added to her acct. as well.

Thanks!

Actually... there are NO 'sat radio' antenna ports on the back, as there is no 'sat radio' tuner built-in. What it does have is an interface built-in for an external Sirius/XM tuner.

The SiriusXM website says the XM Direct Home Tuner is the only device left that can work with the direct interface on that Sony receiver.

She may appreciate a streamer, for SXM.

Call SXM for a price quote. I don't know how the costs compare, 2nd radio vs 1 radio + online streaming.

It is an additional $4.99 a month to add streaming to an account.

It depends on what package subscription she has. Some packages have the on line listen with it.

I have the All Access which has one radio and online listening.
