Just curious if this is the case, I was selling a RA2 system the other day and the client brought up Caseta and asked what the differences are. Ill be honest I had a tough time with that one as even I am having a hard time differentiating between the two.
It seems like it would make sense for them to kill it off, my local electrical supply house has removed their RA2 display in favor for a Caseta display...
on the contrary it seems like lutron could add the apple home kit to existing ra setups

Im pretty sure there is a soft limit on the amount of caseta devices, if you exceed that things get wonky. Ra2 can handle much more.

not a chance.
Caseta just shifts the applications around a bit and gives Lutron a way to compete in the lower end lighting control market.
Caseta is limited to 50 Devices. Color selection is limited. No 3-Way accessory. (Just picos) Build quality seems lower than Ra2/HW. Time will tell how they hold up to daily use.
Caseta gives us a foot in the door for smaller homes(2000-3500sq ft), where Ra2 or Homeworks just isnt in the budget.

Caseta has no keypads!
Caseta is a nifty IoT system component for a homeowner to play with, or for a theater room maybe, but it is not a replacement for a mid sized lighting control system, in which Ra2 fits the bill well for.

Looks like your supply house is killing RAII in favor of Casetta. Those who know and sell RAII will find it.

No comparison, really! Just check out the website and you'll understand.
While you brought this up- I'd like to point out a little nugget I discovered while downloading RA2 9.0- "file conversion is NOT supported" - you'll need to fully rebuild the project... But!, "we really think you're going to like the new tools in this release". Holy crap!

Yes what everyone else said. Definite hard limits both physical and programmatic. Just sat in a cases class. It is cool for some small jobs but absolutely not a ra replacement.

After selling a ton of Ra1 in the later 90's-2000's, I think Ra2 is priced right for what it does. It's reliable, can have 100 devices, 200 if you get more training and better software. Keypads, Accessory dimmers, Picos, garage door piece, security piece, Tstats, easy iPad and iPhone app.
I haven't touched Caseta, because I don't want to fix something thats not broken. I also don't want to race to the bottom.
Last week I did a 12 zone system with Tstat. Installed, programmed in On Controls, setup Lutron App, with remote access, all in a day. Not a bad system for $4500.
With the RRD6CL at $150 retail, how cheap is caseta?

I've put a few in at my home and they work great. Perfect for my front outdoor lights where I want them to turn on/off at night automatically. My friends get a kick out of me using Siri to turn the lights on the patio by the pool. Little stuff like that is what it's good for. I wouldn't sell it in a job where they want any type of lighting system. If they expand on it and add keypads or picos with multiple scene control buttons, occupancy sensors, more switches on a system, repeaters, then it would be great. Oh wait, that's RAII.
