Set up is as follows.
UN85HU8550F Samsung 85" Tv

yamaha aventage 740 AVR
Sony BDP s6200 Bluray
Cox cable
Apple Tv
Snap AV active HDMI cable

All sources work except the Bluray. Get a no signal on Bluray. Tested with test monitor and it outputs fine. Tried forcing different resolutions, still nothing. bypassed AVR, nothing.

Can't seem to figure it out.

at one point our tech powered down the entire system and when he powered back up he was able to get the bluray logo for just a second.

Any thoughts?

Brent?

Turn off deep color on BDP.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Firmware update on the Sammy?
Move blu-ray player to short leash on Sammy and problem persists?

We know it's not the avr because problem persists when it is removed.
I'd look at the Snap device, and moving the blu-ray to a short leash will allow you to test whether the cable is the problem or not.

firmware update was done on tv and Sony. The HDMI cable is about a 25'
Not sure if we tried a short leash. I am pretty sure we tried a different cable though. Asking tech now

A short leash has not been tried. A different HDMI cable from source to avr was tried but not a different 25ft cable. tried multiple inputs on AVR and TV.

We will try the short leash idea and a non active HDMI cable

keep them coming

this would be the first for us on a 25' HDMI cable being to long. Same set up at our showroom with a 50ft HDMI and no issues. Seems something about the new tv is different. why is is too long?

We have seen issues with Active cables and some displays.
The video output of a source is powered up by the input section of the display.
If the display is weak on this voltage (we are seeing more of this) it can cause an issue with the source.
Try another brand of cable both Active and passive.

I had a similar scenario with a PS3 gen 2. Two brands of active HDMI (Key Digital and Wire World) would not produce a picture but did with all other sources. The cables did work on my system but with a gen 1 PS3. I replaced the length with a passive cable and everything worked fine. It's was a 25ft run as well. I'm now using Vanco with Redmere and have had all good experiences up to 50ft (havn't tried longer).

Had the same issue before. Had to use a edid r/w and lock the edid to 1080 and worked fine. 25' hdmi is not an issue unless the cable is just bad

yes. All inputs have been tried.

Snapav thinks it is a timing issue and sending a hdmi splitter. Not sure. We will be out there tomorrow to see if we can get it going. Thanks for all the help!

That would have been my suggestion was to put a 1x2 splitter inline between AVR and TV.
