Recently I've been having issues with Vanco Evolution and Wyrestorm brand HDMI Extenders and have been considering the Binary line, but wanted some input.

Has anyone had any issues with the Snap AV stuff yet? How long have you had it installed??

Thanks

Frank

The ONLY issue I have ever seen is when you are running IR through the extender from a control system to the display, I have seen the emitters lock up where they won't stop glowing. Unplug the RX end and it goes back to normal.

Besides that they seem to be rock solid. Oldest installs are about 1.5 years old.
The less I say, the smarter I will appear

I don't understand why people use anything besides Ethereal.

Because if your doing IR instead of a control system the emitter and receiver are fugly.
The issue is that the ir emitter is about 5 times bigger than it should be so if you're doing more than 1 cable box in a rack and need to place covers on the emitters you can't.
Im sure they work well otherwise.

First of all, who still does IR? Second, I dont care if it looks like a dog turd glued to the TV. You get Brent, and it works.

Did I mention you get Brent?

But what can you do with Brent after you get him?

Kick him in the nuts and steal his wallet? ;-)

Snap hdbaset extenders have been rock solid for us. Have not had a single issue with them. I don't use the ir pass through though.

The HDBT tx/rx extenders have been solid for us. We have put several HDBT matrices out in the field and the 8x8 units have had no issues. The one 16x16 unit we have done kept letting the connection to the rx unit go to "sleep" but after a firmware update, it has worked flawlessly since.

I've made my feelings about Brent no secret. He sets the bar for other companies tech support to strive for. And, consider what all ethereal did to solve the problem with the new HDMI chips before most manufacturers even knew they had problems. I'm all for supporting a company that supports us
