Im using iLearn and the global cache to learn ir codes and covert into hex for a Sonance K2 wall touch panel.
When I look at the ‘Learned Code’, depending how long I hold the remote button down I get multiply lines of code.
What I have done is to only convert the first line of code into hex. Is this all that is required as I can’t test till I’m back on site again next week so wanted to get the codes learned and saved.
For instance, ‘Guide’ if I convert one line to hex I get:
0000 006B 0000 0022 0157 00AC 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 05F8
If I hold the remote button for a second or two I get 10 lines of code, converting this to hex returns:
0000 006B 0000 0034 0157 00AC 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 05F8 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0E5B 0157 0057 0015 0ED8
Which is the correct why in doing this please.
Any help would be appreciated

Although I don't have the expertise to help, I can't help but wonder why you don't use the megalist database with the Sonance software? Surely those codes are already in existence...

At the top of this page you will see the files section and can navigate to the RTI Integration Designer files. Download the MegaList or the other one.
There are other discrete files there. Browse it, good resource.

Returning to the original question... What happens when you hold down a key is that it sends its "repeat sequence" every 100ms or so. (Vastly simplified...) It appears that iLearn does not do a very good job at identifying these repeats. The first sample is the NEC payload for device=73, subdevice=103, obc=4. The second is the same payload, followed by 9 NEC1 repeats. I suggest that you try IrScrutinizer ( [Link: harctoolbox.org]) instead; it should do better at identifying the repeats.

You'll also find that it helps if you identify the product you're dealing with.
While Barf is educated enough to recognize the different parts of the signal, those of us who don't know as much as he does can check whatever databases we have and compare what's there, or perhaps share it here for you to compare or use.
It's the very rare circumstance where stating the brand and model does not help move things forward.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

Thanks tomciara, will take a look. Very interesting Barf, I would like to learn more on IR coding. Thanks Glackowitz for the alternative download Thanks Ernie, I didn't list the model number as the original enquiry was learning how to learn IR codes and how to know when you,ve got enough of the code to work especially when your not on site to test the codes but see were your coming from. The unit in question is a Goodmans GDB20TTS Set top box.
