I have a residential project that's in dire need of acoustic treatment.  It's an existing home that's all glass, terrazzo and marble.  New owner's would like to address the acoustics and the Snowsound products look like they'll fit the home's modern aesthetics.

Has anyone worked with Snowsound or installed any of their products before?

Yea, an Army of Coristas that come out on motorized robot carts when anyone is staying there. :)

Looks nice in pictures, but would never want to live there.
Any tiny sound of even setting a dish down would have to echo through that space.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

"Originally, the architect of this house built this for himself. But then he changed his plan and put the said residence in the market for $35,000,000, cars and furniture are excluded."

More proof that an architect is their own worst client.

"That means the combination of architectural groundbreaking style and extreme details in finishing the quality of this house make it incomparable."

Really? Reminds me of something designed by Richard Neutra, who died in 1970.

Hire an acoustician.

If they're willing to do what's necessary to tame the acoustics, it's going to cover a lot of materials that make the design what it is. Also, as son as you tell the interior detonator that you want to install speakers throughout the house, you need to know that they're not going to put you on their Christmas card list.

What are the requirements for the music system and TV audio? Those will determine what's needed, IMO.

You might also check out "Vicoustics". A great company / product and... affordable!

Based on the price and location of the house I doubt affordable means as much as looks and performance

Some of Vicoustics stuff is beautiful, and about a 4th the price of say RPG and some of the other guys out there.

...But what is the price & location of the house?

I was researching a possible Active Noise Reduction solution that would not require panels and curtains everywhere but came up short.

Lots of cool stuff out there, but a relatively unchartered territory in big spaces like that.

I think those are more effective in controlled spaces, like exhaust systems. Or, were you thinking in terms of acoustical masking?

IN taking a look... at the house (I should have earlier)... That place looks like a home Bang & Olufsen would design!

Trying to sell the H/O or interior designer on ANY sound panels could be tough, due to the estetics...

Cool place though! Im thinking that (speaking of B&O) if they went with some of the bigger B&O speakers with their dsp circuitry might be the ticket.

Please look at what RPG acoustics. They have amazing solutions that they use in the commercial space that would be perfect for any type of residential design.

I've used RPG... I tend to favor Vicoustics, just sayin' 8>)

Plus Vicoustics will do a fairly comprehensive room layout for you for fairly minimal cost.

Check out their website. Brad, in Seattle, is VERY thourough and helpful.

Snowsound isn't really your typical AV acoustics solution. They have a lot of options, and are essentially industrial art.
