Beer and wine, not sure about the hard stuff... I'll check.

I didn't realize they were selling any alcohol. I thought the rules on shipping alcohol would be too complicated.

I thought it was amazing a few years ago when they started same day delivery. I ordered a new router at 1pm in Washington DC and paid $6.00 dollars extra for same day service.

Got it at my house at 7pm and it came from From a warehouse in Kentucky. Installed it the next day and customer was happy.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

On a similar note, apparently Dollar General stores are working to build a store at a maximum distance of every 15 miles along every main highway. Currently. I live 12 miles outside of town. Dollar General currently has a store in town, and one approximately half way between my house and town. Yesterday I learned they are building another store 2 miles past my house.

Say good bye to what local small businesses that are still surviving right now. By the time Walmart catche's up with their express stores they are building across the road from dollar generals, no independent retailers will survive. But at least we wil be able to save $.10 on Cheetos and pick up a new pack of cheap underwear at the same time

And don't forget the other benefits, like Malaysian children getting pennies an hour to make the underwear. And, even more beneficial to us all, it means that the US gets to claim two of the wealthiest women in the world as well (with almost $60B between them.) A small price to pay I say.

I'm tired of hearing about 3rd world child sweatshops. Who are we to dictate how parents in other countries raise their kids? Personally, I'd be tempted to rent my kids out for pennies a day to perform manual labor. Then maybe the spoiled little brats might learn to appreciate what they have

Other perks are that instead of a dozen privately owned businesses with decent paying jobs that help build the local economy and promote local manufacturing... you have a bunch of low paying local jobs at a company that strengthens the economy of countries like china and hoard all the profit making sure it never sees the local economy again. Walmart is a vampire. They steal $1000.00 and then give you back ten cents via cheaper cheetos.

I agree with this. I have seen way too many toddlers that take both their hands for granted. Just once i would like to chop one of them off to show the rest of the preschool what life is really about.

Have a couple kids and then make that same statement again. You'll do it with much less sarcasm in it.

Eventually it's going to come full circle, to the point that you coming in and picking something up yourself will be considered an exotic option that add excitement (and for which you will pay a premium.)

not sure about the US
[Link: amazon.ca]

The Pickup Points delivery option allows you to choose a Canada Post retail location as a shipping destination for your Amazon.ca orders. Instead of having a package delivered to your home or business address, you can select a Pickup Point location and pick up your package at a time that's convenient for you.

but that is already a reality here.

1 hour delivery won't be fast enough for some situations

Heat of the moment, the woman asks her BF..."you do have condoms don't you?"

He responds " I thought you said you were picking up some on the way home?"

An hour later...
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.
