Like Cgav said, the utility in the mac is the best option. the idevices or pc have different options or "questions" per say. set the first one to join existed network and to extend network abd you should be good. and yes if your not using the airplay kill it.

i use these quite often, although sometimes the idevices get confused easily going from one wap to another and i find you have to shut the wifi off on the device and reconnect so it locks on.

Fins! was just joking browski :)

I quit using Apple for IT long ago. One Airport Extreme in a small home is good but multiple devices no matter how well you set them up seem to cause occasional truck rolls or headaches on some of the projects.

Airport Utility used to throw me fits.

The other problem is using appliances provided by ISP's. It seems that the rollout of higher bandwidth services are stressing these devices.  My evidence is anecdotal but I've noticed many more problems with them as our market gets cheap/easy 100Mbs service. We recently changed our policy: we supply the 'modem only' appliance and a separate router. We will not work with 'all in one' appliances such as modem+router or modem+router+WiFi supplied by the ISP.

So not only 'use real network gear' but 'don't ever use ISP's network gear.'

1) NEVER FRACKING EXTEND! Extend means Use up HALF the bandwidth to relay the signal.

2) Ethernet cable plugs into the <---> port on the AirPort!

3) From the AirPort Utility

a) AirPort Button - Wireless Tab. Create A Wireless Network. Make these settings the SAME as the TWC router. UNCHECK Allow this Network to be Extended.

b) Internet Button - Internet Connection Tab. Connect Using:Ethernet. Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode)

c) Internet Button - TCP/IP Tab. Either set to DHCP or set to same class network as your router.

And that is how to set up AirPorts.
