I have some friends that bought the 1.0 version. They all tired with the issues it had with software and hardware, and put regular buttons back in place after about 6 months.

It appears that version 2.0 is better, but still a little lacking. It fails to capture based on motion sensing, or having the bell rung. You have to manually capture the feed, and only a still image at that. The issues with the audio seem like a big issue. I'm not ready to be a guinea pig, based on what I've read. The bad news, is that in this race of pigs, Skybell sounds like the best.

Here's the review at Cnet's site:

Thank You, good review on Cnet. Not sure if i want to try or recommend it after all ,that poor audio quality does seem like a deal breaker

Dont do it! I recommended one for a customer and so far has been nothing but a nightmare. Some days it works, some it doesn't. Concept is cool it just isn't there yet.

I wanted to follow up on this thread and go against Audiox99s review.
The product has been solid for two months of operation so far and the main accessory missing that keeps me from doing more is a wireless ringer like RING has. I only sell the skybell trim plus FWIW
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Customer "surprised" me and bought one. Their current set up triggers a macro n their Total Control system and sends audio throughout the whole house audio system. Is there a way to get the Skybell to trigger a macro? Some sort of voltage, relay or contact sensor?
