I have also use the 56k remodulating devices for the Scientific Atlanta boxes. I use the Marantz remotes, which will learn and operate the cable box flawlessly, until you try to pass it through the IR system. My only concern would be whether BOSE is using a 56k carrier frequency. I only point this out because of their tendencies to make things propietary to their equipment. Nonetheless, Russound offers the part as IR56KREMOD. I would be surprised if Xantech doesn't market a similar product. And, I agree that Audioplex makes a superior product. Also, BOSE could have gone the B&O/Kenwood 455K route. If so, I know Xantech has a solution.

This sounds exactly like a problem I have had in the past. Xantech emitters emit code not only out the face of the emitter but also through the bubble on the back( unless ordered 1 specific model that does not). I had a sutuation were all IR worked perfectly until i closed the doors to the cabinet. the IR was being emitted and bouncing off mirrors, glass, white walls and controlling the equipment. The emitter was not situated inthe right spot. Also VERY IMPORTANT if you didn't place the emitter in the right spot in the first place and tried to replace, it the double sidded stiky tape becomes dirty and interfears with the siganal being emitted ou of the face. Finally I replaced the doudle sidded tape, after cleaning the emitter, then placed at least 2 layers of black tape over the bubble of every emitter, next extended the receiver to a location where the pronto's output would not effect the equipment driectly. after this I was able to finnaly place the emitter in the right location wthout other source interfernce. If you try this and it doesn't work then Xantec does make IR receivers that you can adjust the carrier frequency on that work very well. Also if you use their amplified connecting block you can plug the High IR output to get a stronger signal.

Lonny I am in New Hyde Park. You did not specify what model dinky link you have. The cfl version 480-80 has a I. R carrier range of 30 to 60 kHz The 480-00 has an I R carrier of 30-100 kHz. It sounds like you are using the 480-80. If so switch to an 480-00 that should solve your problem. If you need one in a rush e mail me. Zinon

I don't understand why the solution is a secret Skybird. The reason that we all read this forum is to learn, and someone might just withhold info from you sometime when you really need help.

Three Russound distributors have never heard of the product?
THAT is too funny...... How in the world can a distributor/rep handle a line when he/she doesn't even know what's in the line?

Lonny, Show them their own damn website...how pathetic, not knowing their own product. If you need a knowledgable rep that can get you one quick ( he has them in stock and sent me one next day priority) talk to Chris at Custom Home Sound in Charleston, SC. His website is: www.customhomesound.comMark

What model dinky link are you using? If it has 3 holes its probably a 480-80 which will not work well with the bose. The 480-00 has two holes and should work fine Zinon
