Ladies, Gentlemen,

I have been asked to install some lighting for my parents, and am looking for some inspiration / rules of thumb i should follow.

do any of you deal with lighting systems ? - unfortunately, they dont have the cash to buy a system by lutron etc so the control of the lights will be by standard wall dimmers.

any help with this would be most appreciated.

regards,
jonathan.

Hi Dr.K

i'm possibly looking for either photo's of residential lighting (and perhaps a bit of info on what kit was used (spots, strip, up/down lighter etc etc)

also, are there any rules of thumb pertaining to what lighting can be used together, ie, can fluorescent be used along with spots (just as an example) or like if using a 60mm spot, these ideally must be positioned 'x' distance from the next, or something on those lines.

or is it just a case of doing what seems right ?

kind regards,
Jonathan.
