So, in certain items such as the Niles zr4630, they have the various ways of managing devices to turn on and off at the right times (when they don't have discreted on/off commands), video sync, light sensors, etc.

My question is: is there anything on the market that is dedicated to that job and integrates into an IR system?

Thanks ahead for any help!

ever visit Niles website?

how bout Xantech's?

or Russound's?

maybe audioplex?

or extron?

See guys (and SORRY Andrew, no offense or personal attack meant!) THIS is what I'm talking about in certain major metropolitan areas across the country! Lately, in researching my latest article, it appears to be much less problematic on the coasts, as it is in the center!

Also, in a different way it's EXACTLY what I was talking about in one of my previous articles!

sorry...quick rant/point off...

there are no less than 10 TRILLION products, discussed ad naseum(sp?), EVERY DAY on this forum, about these topics...

1) Do a google search
2) Get the training to prevent asking a question like this
3) Send me you resume`, and I might PAY for said training, in case you're not getting it now!

Hilarious..........but I think the Xantech Gatekeeper is what he's after by his definition. It is sort of a complicated device and absolutely requires a remote control with good organization of it's IR source macros. Your remote will have "pre-cursor" commands inserted before the power commands. They have "tags" on them that identify whether the forthcoming command has intentions of powering on or powering off the device. These tags tell the Gatekeeper to open or close the gate before the toggle command gets through to the component. OF COURSE IF THE MANUFACTURERS WOULD JUST GET THEIR SH!T TOGETHER, we wouldn't have to have all of these discussions as discrete's are much easier to grasp (for most installers that is).

That's "ad nauseum," and it's not Spanish. That was a joke, dude.

Somewhere I have an artwork of Bart Simpson standing at the chalkboard writing a hundred times,
"I will not ask a dumb question before doing a google search."

I GOTTA make it so I can use it in posts like this!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
