This is a rule they need to follow, just like a New Yorker has to tell you they are from New York.

You can usually tell they're from New York the first time they speak.....witch usually includes the fact that they are from new York!!

I was going to say, I've never had to say it, 1st thing anyone says is - "woah, u must be from New York!!"  I guess I do have a pretty thick accent...

Being from NY i'd equate it to 2 drunk shmucks, jawwing at each other before they fight and one of them 'warning' the other he's gonna kick his ass b/c he's from Brooklyn!!   I'm sure another NY'er can vouch for that!

And every Engineer I've ever met or worked for, was SURE to immediately let me know that he is in fact an Engineer...  Well Whoopdy freaking doo!!!  Always find it amusing..  That's just their way of letting us know that they can do our job better than we can..  Which is odd since we always have to rip out and fix their disaster of a science experiment.

One of my nieces is getting married, this spring, to a young man that just graduated as a civil engineer (structural).

So far I've discovered he has NO sense of humor at all, is so totally literal a joke just passes over, and can't really seem to relate to the real world.

I guess he spent hours sitting in a dark corner, dreaming up mechanical things while in school.

I think I'll get him a hooker for the stag party. Mess his mind up good... :-)

My father in law is an electrical engineer with GE. And my wife's sister's husband is an engineer with Pentair. I forgot what type of engineer he is, but he specializes in efficiency, like the father in the old cheaper by the dozen movie. They don't like it at all when I make comments about engineers designing stuff without having any clue about real world applications.

My dad is an Engineer...He too gets annoyed when I come home ranting that engineers never use what they design.

Also, Engineers are like women..It is impossible for them to coexist with other engineers.
