We are trying to propose a Crestron lighting system to someone who has a competitors quote on a C4 system. ( We do Crestron and URC, not C4 ). Does C4 have centralized lighting modules also or just local dimmer replacements ?

Yes, C4 has Panelized Lighting Products and individual local dimmer/switch/keypad replacements. You could also propose Lutron or another 3rd party lighting and integrate.

C4 does have Panelized? I must not know what a panelized lighting product is. I assumed a central HV system. Thought they only had switches/dimmers which are controlled from a central controller.

So why doesn't their website show any lighting panels ? Just shows dimmers and keypads under lighting. Also shows 120v powered keypads. What is the point of that ?

Keypads can be powered from 120VAC or 36VDC LV power supply.

The panelized lighting keypads are hardwired to an RS485 bus.

That's hilarious, I didn't realize it doesn't actually show any panelized lighting on the C4 website. This is on the page, next to a pic of some keypads, but that's it.

Panelized Lighting Solutions
Elegant Solutions for Sophisticated Projects—Eliminate those unsightly collections of switches on every wall. Control4’s discrete panelized lighting solutions enable complete control over residential and commercial lighting systems. All dimming, switching and load management is performed by smart lighting modules tucked away in a panel and completely hidden from view. The Control4 Wired Keypads, often used with panelized lighting solutions, add style and elegance to custom lighting projects. For larger homes and commercial endeavors, this is the lighting solution for you!

There is actually quite a lot of literature regarding their panelized lighting on the C4 website. I think you have to go to home owner resources or something.

Just curious, why do you have 2 hardwired keypads in the lighting panel?

I just happened to see this and assume that's directed to me. Sparky wired the ceiling fans to the panel, so that's where he stuck the fan speed controllers. I started with that company between rough-in and final of that home & didn't get my way when I asked for it to be redone differently.

Crestron also offers a lifetime warranty on all residential lighting products, that should offer a selling point.
