I need something made up, specifically out of MDF. Ive called a few places but they just CNC metal and didnt know of anyone that does CNC milling out of MDF.

If anyone knows of a local CNC Shop in the eastern PA/Philadelphia/Southern NJ market I would greatly appreciate it!

Go to a good woodworking store and look in their book of business cards- people are getting into more CNC milling of wood and the price is dropping, as well as people building their own.

If this for something you'll use on a regular basis, you could have one made from 1/4" aluminum and use that as a router template.

Some cabinet shops and sign-makers use this, too.

I found this- maybe they can help-

Thanks man! I should have been more specific; it's roughly a 3'x5' chunk of 1" mdf.

The aluminum idea is a good idea, not sure how often I'll need to replace the piece, maybe once a year if that

Making a company sign?

A local grocery store chain has CNC'd pieces hanging in the stores and when I look at the edges, it seems to be MDF. For outdoor use, I would look into MDO, which is Medium Density Overlay, used for freeway signs. If you call a wood products supplier, specifically fro sheet goods, they probably have a lot of shops that can do this, in your area.

When I toured Magnapan years ago, they were CNC-ing high density MDF.

we have had wood CNC'd many times. high end cabinet shops can do this. ours has huge CNC tables that can handle almost anything.
I love supporting product that supports me!

I think this thread is ON TOPIC. Helping our members expand their abilities, even just by hearing about stuff like this, is a great thing this site can do.

Speaking of google, I googled CNC Wood Philadelphia and got twenty-one million responses. Now, since that's google, maybe four of them are worthwhile, but I did find one company that seems to be in that area and does CNC of wood. Try it.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

He's probably running windows and is afraid to click on any websites that he's not familiar with. ;)

Brendon, you should so buy a CNC machine.
Since you're limited on space, have it delivered to my house and I'll set it up in that small-ish shed I'm building.

No such thing. It's MDF or HDF.

Why bother with a smallish shed when you really want/need a big one?

I founded a local custom furniture company that has been helpful with a number of things.  They have experience working with metal, wood & composites and for a price can do almost anything you can dream up.

Maybe you've got a similar business in your area?
