Guys, I'm programming a replacement CAV6.6 and I need to learn some xfinity codes into the CAV.
I'm not sure that I tried all the codesets from the book, but I certainly tried at least 30. Comcast nor xfinity are listed in the MFG guide.
Do you know who makes Comcast boxes that I could try codesets from Russound book that was printed 8 years ago?

For reference, CAV6.6's manual is so old that under TV section, Vizio (client's kitchen TV) isn't even listed.

If the are no answers to the post above, has anyone ever successfully learned IR codes using front panel's IR learner on the CAV6.6?

I tried several things today and out of all the functions, I was only able to learn ChUp.
I know the emitter is working because the Uno2 keypad successfully passes all instructions from OEM remote.
Search here reveals few had similar issues, but no one posted any successful results.

I'm going back out there tomorrow and would love to have a solution or at least few things to try.

I think I remember having a similar issue with a takeover CAV6.6 installation I did years ago. Can you copy/paste HEX codes within the Russound application?

I just talked to Russound tech support. No HEX code import. There is an import file option, but I would need to have someone with an actual Russound CAV file.

The one thing I didn't try is new battery. I don't think it'll help as I was able to operate the remote as a passthru, thru Uno2 KP, and it worked 100% of the time.
At this point, I know that the OEM remote is good, the CAV is good, and the IR emitter is working and in correct location.

I thought Russound was out of business. Are they? Were they for a while?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I've used quite a few Cav6s in the past and for the money it was a good work horse, but the ability to learn hex codes was terrible. There were instances when we simply changed source devices with others that had compatible control functionally.

You're thinking of V.Net or something like that.

I ended up spending half of the day trying everything I could think of.

In the end, I was able to learn all the commands, however, the key presses (Russound remote &/or Uno2 KPs) were unpredictable.

Sometimes it would take 1 press for the cable box to recognize the press, other times it would take 8.
There were instances where repetitive press would be recognized as soon as each second; other times that same button would take 15-20 seconds.

Each time, the KP would display that the button was pressed, but the CAV would not send the command.

It seems that the buffer on the CAV was getting corrupted or ...

Any code sets that were natively in the CAV would be transmitted instantly and worked 100% of the time.

Because OEM remote passthru worked 100% of the time, I instructed client to use Comcast's OEM remote and left it at that for the moment.

I will be going back there to do some additional work and will bring URC's MX line of controllers and see if we can go that route.

A lot of the Xfinity boxes are made by Pace and trying to learn codes from that remote will a waste of time. I've tried with CAVs and the new MCAs without any luck. If any one has been able to learn it, I would love to have a copy of the RIR file. I know a couple of guys that have been able to learn a couple of keys, but that's about it. It's not just a problem with Russound...there's a lot of threads about Xfinity IR.
