Anybody else find Valet's overloading the IR of an RCA DTC-100 Hidef receiver?
If so, could you enlighten me as to a fix?
I tried the resistor (1/4 watt, 40-something ohm) approach, but that only made it angrier.
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

What in the world are you talking about? I have a file with the DTC-100 that works no problem. Try re-learning the codes.

I have several IRF file you can download on my personal website at " www.haguirre.com", one of which is for the RCA DTC-100. IRF files are stored in the "IR Files" page.

JJP: My codes are fine. The reason I know this? Because I attached the learner and I tested the codes.
However, when the Valet is hooked up per the design we use, and the cabinet is closed and the projector is on, the codes no longer control the Sat Receiver. The Valet will control other components. Can you feel my frustration?
Hector: I will try your codes and let you know.

mick, can you give us a little more info on the system?
What parts are you using in the IR system? An amplified connecting block?

Sure:
Via Valet connected to PVIA 10 connected to Xantech ZPR and EXP connected to Xantech Amplified Connecting Block connected to a Xantech Emitter.
Xantech's response to this problem is Via kicks out hot (too much) IR and needs the resistor I mentioned in the first post.
It worked before but not in this case.
So my question is: has anybody else come across this particular problem with standalone vias and if so, is there a solution?

Instead of resistors, it might be easier to offset the flasher. Don’t place the flasher directly over the sensor but off to the side a bit (1/4" to 1").
While you are trying to find the sweet spot, use tape to hold the flasher on the component and save the flasher's adhesive for the final location.

Problem solved, hopefully.
If anyone cares, I swapped out the xantech emitter from a blink to a non blink and this allowed for control of the receiver.
Thanks for all the help from everyone, especially hector.
