The only way we'll actually be able to see the movie (or content) in 4k, is with the apps on the actual TVs?

Since there are no stand alone devices (Roku, AppleTV, BluRay players, etc with apps) that actually have 4k output ports?

Am I missing something? Has there been any main stream product announcements for devices that stream 4k? Not including the Sony movie streamer solution (I don't really consider that "main stream").

Amazon and Netflix look to be the first available choice for 4k? I think DirecTV has announced something in the near future too?

Please explain why the Sony FMP-X10 doesn't count, in your opinion.

First series 4k tv's with 8 bit technology wont display most, if not all, new 4k streaming services which are at 10 bit. Thats my understanding anyway. So now we are left with checking 4k tv's to make sure they are 10 bit and not 8 bit technology.

I have no idea how accurate that statement is but thats what I was told.

The way things are heading.....I'm planning on running audio of every TV back to the DA system or receiver. It sucks but there are simply no options right now....

First phonograph cost $150 in 1891 - that equates to $3800 with inflation. Video quality wasn't as good as 4K, but at least it had analog out.

First piece of ass cost me probably around $1200. That was early 90's, before the Internet, and growing up in the aids scare. You had to work for it back then

Your current one is costing you more now and will certainly cost even more in the event it ceases to be "current". Not criticizing, just being realistic.
