Any thoughts, pre-wiring for beale street stuff and this is what they recommend for the time being. Looks interesting but also a pain for the dry-waller's

I'd just get the specs on the Beale St speakers and find some rings that will work. Drywallers already dont give a F that template will just screw them up worse.

Why just lace the wires in the studs and take pictures then cut in afterwards if this isn't a whole house distributed audio. If it is I would find some close to the speaker size.

I used something similar ONE TIME.

I then went with blind wiring all in ceiling and in wall speakers, and making my cuts after the rock went up.

If the job isn't too far away, I think it's worth a trip to the job site just after the rock goes up so you can cut your speaker holes and not worry about leaving a mess.

Nice part of doing it this way?

If you mess up, the rock guys can fix it and all is cool (you are friends with the rock guys, right?).

You had me in agreement until you said this. You see, when you have a festool drywall saw you never mess up. Has Chuck Norris ever messed up a roundhouse kick? I think not!

What's wrong with speaker brackets? Look at how many 6.5" ceiling speakers have a roughly 8.25" cutout.
