I've been looking at some of the higher quality streaming audio services.

SONOS is offering Deezer Elite. The quality and catalog seem good from the website. Apparently at the present time you must have a SONOS device to sign up for the service. That isn't a problem, got that covered. I don't want to sign up for a service, and then have it only available on my SONOS devices. Will the Deezer Elite service allow me to stream to Android and/or iOS devices?

Tidal looks nice, but at twice the price for what I can get Deezer Elite, it better be. Tidal does support Android, iOS, and Windows, so that's a plus. Does anyone know if it works with SONOS?

Qobuz is the priciest. It seems to support Android, iOS, and Windows. I can't seem to find any reference to how big their catalog is. Anyone using it that can comment on their catalog size and quality? Does it work with SONOS?

Have I missed any?

Mog

At only 320Kbps, I don't classify them as high quality.

It looks to me like their library and features are the same or less than Spotify, at a higher price, why would anyone choose Mog?

Because I believe that until Deezer was introduced on Sonos, Mog was the highest quality streaming service available on appliances other than computers. I know about a year ago when I looked into options for a client, it was the highest quality available on devices like Sonos and LMS servers. Unless I missed something, Tidal and Qobuz are only available on android and iOS devices.

I thought MOG was shut down after Beats bought them....and then Apple bought them. I was impressed with the quality of MOG compared to Pandora on SONOS. I could not justify the cost so I only used it for 6 months or so. I need to look into Deezer. I have been playing with my new PONO player the last few days. I have not purchased any HR audio yet, but what came on it sounds really good.

Maybe they were. I looked into it for one client and he signed up for it, but I haven't looked at it since then.

Deezer sounds very good. Especially when it costs the same as pandora

Deezer elite only streams through Sonos. You can use the regular Deezer app on iOS and android but it is NOT the hi res stream.

High quality and streaming. Isn't that an oxymoron?

There's really no such thing as high quality streaming audio. Did they make the jump from 192 or 224 to 320? It'll be negligible for you, depending on a host of factors regarding your network. At least the cymbal crashes won't sound like two pots slamming together in the background, but streaming media is a lose-lose scenario. It's like trying to listen to a skype phone call.

At the end of the day, you are dealing with a UDP stream, and with no ack, something is going to break.

I've heard it called best effort:

"It's not really best effort, more fire and forget. Although the term "best effort" is actually used IMHO it's incorrect, since in non-telecoms usage it implies at least a modicum of effort beyond default behaviour, and often somewhat more than that.

No part of the network makes any special allowances for any IP packet except when there's Quality of Service in place, and even then that's really hop-by-hop rather than end-to-end."

The run of the mill streaming services offer selections from 192, 224, and 320Kbps. Spotify, and many of the others offer this.

Deezer Elite, Tidal, and Qobuz all offer 1411Kbps.

I have Deezer on Sonos and it is not high quality. Period. It sounds no better than any of the other streams.

Deezer is coming to or already on Autonomic so it seems like they will be everywhere until someone buys them too.

Note the difference... there is Deezer Premium+, same quality as Spotify, limited to 320Kbps. Then there is Deezer Elite, which streams to 1141Kbps.

A better way to put one of the questions I've been trying to find the answer of, If I subscribe to Deezer Elite, do I get access to Premium+ for iOS, Android, and PCs?

From what I've read, and what out sonos rep said, the only way to get the full lossless streaming from Deezer is on sonos. They have a set time frame in place for when sonos will lose its exclusivity. But Deezer is also still in beta mode on sonos, and I don't think the clock starts ticking until the beta period ends
