Customer has a gate access to their property. They would like to have the call button ring to their cellphone and be able to see who is at the gate and then let them in. They are planning on forgoing a land line.
Should be able to get whatever type of wiring we want there and have it hard wired to the houses network.
I've not done much access control like this and wondering if there is a good place to start looking or if anyone has a product that could accomplish this.

Mobotix has a pretty slick "doorphone" piece that we are considering for a project that will "call" an app on a smartphone. Single CAT wiring, or existing 2 conductor can be utilized. I have seen the unit briefly, but have not had a chance to hook it up and use it. Sounds like it might do what you are asking. Worth a look. T.hey make some solid stuff, those Germans.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will check them out. This would be used with the a Control4 system.
Don't know if there is a system that has "drivers" for c4 too.
